Interim leadership roles
Turnover happens. An open senior staff position can be a major challenge to a small nonprofit — the typical timeline to fill a senior role is four to six months, and the work doesn't pause while you search.
Martha provides interim financial and operational leadership to nonprofits navigating transitions. She steps in quickly, works independently, and covers the full scope of the role — not just the tasks that are easy to hand off.
In a recent engagement, Martha served as interim Director of Finance and Operations and Director of HR simultaneously at a domestic violence services organization with a $3M budget and 46 employees. Over four months, she managed year-end budgeting, monthly financial closes, benefits repricing and restructuring, and multiple new hires, terminations, and PFML leaves of absence. She also hired and onboarded her permanent replacement — who remains successfully in the role a year and a half later.
Martha brings decades of experience as both a finance director and executive director, with particular depth in financial systems, HR, audit readiness, and board and funder reporting. If your organization needs experienced, trustworthy leadership coverage while you conduct a thoughtful search, she's available to talk.
